Traffic survey in the harbour area
AS Tallinna Sadam in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects is creating a new and modern city centre in the area of the Old City Harbour. The construction of residential and commercial buildings there is envisaged under both harbour development projects and the plans of developers working on the neighbouring properties. In the detailed spatial planning process, the City Government also instructed AS Tallinna Sadam to conduct a traffic survey in the area. As a longstanding partner of the harbour operator, the survey was entrusted to K-Projekt. We analysed the additional volume of buildings and parking spaces and prepared a traffic forecast. Using modelling, we investigated the effect of additional traffic on the functioning of traffic in the area. Based on the results of the survey, we then prepared a prospective traffic scheme for the area.
